DR. ELISABETH SPECHT

Dr. Elisabeth Specht is a proud Albertan, growing up on a farm near Lacombe. After completing her physical therapy degree in 1999, she returned to the University of Alberta to graduate with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2007. She then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital. For five years, she happily continued to work there, providing dental care to people with complex medical issues, including organ transplants, and head and neck cancer. Following this, she served the people in the Northwest Territories for several years.

It was through these experiences that she realized her biggest passions in dentistry: dental surgery, and dental sedation. “As a child, I was always very fearful of going to the dentist. I can now take that memory and transform it into a better, gentler experience for my patients. If I can make your dental appointments easier on you, then I will be happy.”

When she is not working, Dr. Specht loves to garden, cook with and create a home for her beloved husband, Bernhard. She also loves to travel. She has travelled to Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua and Cambodia with the dental charity Kindness in Action to provide dental care to people in remote, under-served and under-privileged areas.
