Meet Our Dentist in Airdrie, AB
Dr. Amrita Sandhu-Gill
Hi! My name is Dr. Amrita Sandhu-Gill and I am a general dentist here at south Airdrie Smiles. I was born and raised in Edmonton, AB. I attended the University of Alberta and completed my undergraduate degree in Biological and Physical Sciences. I moved out east to Boston, MA to complete my dental degree at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. After graduating, I moved back to Alberta and my husband and I have made Calgary our new home.
Our goal at South Airdrie Smiles is to provide an excellent experience for each of our patients. From our very first visit, we strive to create a dental experience that is custom tailored to your individual needs. We want to work together with our patients to enhance their oral health through a comprehensive approach. In doing so, I strongly focus on educating my patients about their dental needs so that each patient is able to make informed decisions regarding their treatment. I appreciate and am excited to answer any questions or concerns that my patients have regarding their treatment options.
The most rewarding part of my day is when I am able to make the most anxious and hesitant patients, both young and old, feel comfortable and relaxed during their dental visits. In addition to using particular approaches to help manage stress that our patients go through, I also offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation options for your visits.
In my spare time, I focus my time on working out and living a healthy lifestyle, and convincing my husband to do the same
DR. SIMRAN KAUR
Hi! My name is Dr Simran Kaur. I was born and raised in Australia. I completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University in Australia.
I moved to my husband’s hometown Calgary in 2018, where we got married and am now proud to call Canada home.
Being a dentist has allowed me to build valuable relationships with patients and assist them in reaching their health goals. My primary focus has always been towards making the dental visit one of enjoyment; through compassion, care and quality work.
Outside of work I like to enjoy the beautiful and scenic views Canada has to offer. I always like to spend time with family and friends accompanied by good food and drinks.
I cannot wait to meet you at your next visit at South Airdrie Smiles, just come by and say hi!
DR. ELISABETH SPECHT
Dr. Elisabeth Specht is a proud Albertan, growing up on a farm near Lacombe. After completing her physical therapy degree in 1999, she returned to the University of Alberta to graduate with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2007. She then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital. For five years, she happily continued to work there, providing dental care to people with complex medical issues, including organ transplants, and head and neck cancer. Following this, she served the people in the Northwest Territories for several years.
It was through these experiences that she realized her biggest passions in dentistry: dental surgery, and dental sedation. “As a child, I was always very fearful of going to the dentist. I can now take that memory and transform it into a better, gentler experience for my patients. If I can make your dental appointments easier on you, then I will be happy.”
When she is not working, Dr. Specht loves to garden, cook with and create a home for her beloved husband, Bernhard. She also loves to travel. She has travelled to Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua and Cambodia with the dental charity Kindness in Action to provide dental care to people in remote, under-served and under-privileged areas.
