Fun Dental Visits for Kids
The best way to encourage your child to look forward to trips to the dentist is to start taking them at a very young age. During these appointments, we will:
• Start out with a “fun” tour of the office, so that they can become familiar with the sights, sounds, and smells of the dental experience.
• Use a show-tell-do routine so that there’s nothing surprising or scary.
• Go at your child’s own pace, never forcing them into something that isn’t necessary.
• Give kids and parents the tools necessary to limit the risk of cavities, infections, or dental emergencies.
When Should You Bring Your Child to the Dentist?
Pediatric experts recommend a dental check-up for all children by their first birthday. From there, we usually see children every six months to monitor their oral health and development. As they get more teeth and become more comfortable working with us, we’ll start to take pictures (X-rays) and clean their teeth to ensure the best oral health possible.
Pediatric Preventive Dentistry
Did you know that your child’s baby teeth are more susceptible to decay than adult teeth are? Losing them prematurely can impact the development of their future smile. Ask us about protective sealants and fluoride to combat cavities before they start.
